Respite Care, After-School and Summer Camps for Special Needs:

Loving Care Family Services provides respite care, after school care and summer camps. We've gotten to know Cindy Wright and had wonderful experience with many of her personnel.  Definitely worth a look!  Here's the mission statement:

"Loving Care Family Services, LLC has been formed for the purpose of helping children and young adults with disabilities to get the care that they need, to be as independent as possible, and to maintain a lifestyle that makes them the most comfortable. We believe that we all need help from time to time.

If you are a parent, you may find yourself needing a helping hand with your children from time to time, not because you aren't a great parent but because you have a child with a medical problem or a special need, and you may have other children that need your attention as well. Sometimes you simply need to spend some quality adult time with your spouse and friends, or you just may need a little respite for yourself and want to leave your children with people whom you can trust."

Adapted Play and More!

LekotekLekotek of Georgia is a wonderful program where children with disabilities can interact with toys, computers and friends.  The Lekotek staff assist families and children access the world of fun and communication. This is a very unique program we're fortunate to have in Georgia!  Go take a look at their website!  Here's what they have to say:

"The world of Lekotek is one filled with laughter and joy coupled with hard work and personal challenges.   Children with disabilities struggle to interact with family members and participate in school and community activities.  That's why we're here.  Lekotek facilitates successful inclusion in all aspects of life.

The word "Lekotek" comes from the Swedish work "lek," meaning play, and the Greek suffix "tek" meaning library.  Loosely translated, Lekotek means play library, but to the hundreds of families we help, it is much more.  Using adapted toys and computer equipment, Lekotek provides opportunities for children to have fun and learn along the way.  It is a safe haven from medical appointments and therapies.  It is a place where there are no expectations to perform, a place where parents find resources and support."
