Speech Language, Assistive Technology and AAC Workshops
We have a wide variety of workshops to help your special education teachers, assistive technology teams, speech & occupational therapists, and paraprofessionals get started assessing and implementing language, literacy and communication for your special needs students! We even have a workshop geared toward administrators. Workshops are held in your facility and can include as many participants as you can house. We can also provide more individualized training to assist local teams in troubleshooting communication and educational needs for individual students. Very affordably priced, and included in our services for contracted districts!
General Objective To build local competence in assessment and provision of communication supports to improve listening, speaking, reading and writing for students with significant communication needs. Targeted audience are self-contained special education teachers, preschool special needs teachers, paraprofessionals, and speech/occupational/physical therapists.

Competently use targeted strategies for encouraging the development of communication, language, writing and reading skills
Engineer the classroom environment to support communication through visual supports including core vocabulary displays, environmental labelling and materials development.
Assess the communication opportunities in their classroom and develop lesson plans to encourage skill demonstration
Exhibit basic knowledge of the components of a comprehensive communication system in order to effectively model for and teach students the use of their AAC systems.
